New music sometimes aims at getting back to its roots. Except in this case, it’s not about bringing back a genre or an old sound, it’s about getting back to vintage technology — most of which we didn’t know could be used for creating music.
In the video, Jullian Corrie uses classic video game gadgets to perform his song “Polybius.” These gadgets include a Nintendo Quickshot Joystick, SEGA Mega Drive, Playstation One and Commodore 64. During all this, Corrie plays guitar, keyboard, and controls the whole ensemble via MIDI.
The video is filmed in the bottom of an empty swimming pool and is not just a cool video, it’s a great song. Check out more of Corrie’s music on his SoundCloud page.
